Community update
New Community Gallery Opens with Art and Photography Inspired by Chatham Light
We have opened a new community gallery devoted to the ways artists and photographers see Chatham Light. The launch was also announced to Chatham First Light subscribers by email on October 29.
The gallery is organized as two distinct collections so the work can stand on its own with minimal interruption:
- Creative Works presents illustration, painting, graphic art and other artistic interpretations in a dark, exhibition-style setting.
- Inspired Photography presents community photographs in a fluid visual wall designed to grow as new work is approved.
The opening Creative Works exhibition begins with five Chatham Light pieces by nationally recognized illustrator Bob Staake. It also features paintings by local artist and lighthouse neighbor Anne Randle, and graphic work by local artist Allen Bonde. Each artist’s presentation includes a link to their own website or gallery page.
The Inspired Photography collection opens with photographs by Stephen S. Daniel, Mark Logan and Stephen Grant.
This is intended to be a living community collection. Artists and photographers may submit work privately for consideration. Every submission is reviewed before it appears publicly, and approved work is displayed with attribution and any artist or collection link provided by the contributor.
